The latest Chamber meeting was held on Wednesday 12th February, 2020.
Chamber members had previously submitted questions to be tabled to the Council representatives. Bill Cullen, Chief Executive, John Coward Assistant Town Centre Manager and Steve Wegerif of Hinckley Bid joined the panel as well.
The meeting was well attended with the majority of the Chamber Committee in attendance. After introductions of the panel a question and answer session was held from the questions received previously from members. The questions for the Panel varied from why Upper Castle Street is not included in the road closure when the Christmas Lights switch on, when will The Crescent development finally be full of businesses, any further plans for Regent Street, any plans to extend free parking, any plans to increase parking capacity such as a multi storey, what are the Council going to do to alleviate the exit of shoppers from Hinckley once the Fosse Park extension is complete, will there be a Chamber representative on the steering group for the grant of £2 million? Various other questions linked to these.
It was an informative and interesting with the aspirations Bill and the Borough Council have for the future of the Town and surrounding areas presented.
